North-Central Region

My North-Central Regional Office is located in Lewiston, which is at the confluence of the Snake and Clearwater rivers at 738 feet above sea level with a population of 31,164. The region enjoys one of the best climates of the Pacific Northwest. Founded in 1861 as a supply and trade center, Idaho's oldest city is also the state's only seaport. With the creation of the Idaho Territory in 1863, Lewiston was named Idaho's capital, a designation that lasted until December 1864 when Boise was named the capital city.

Lewiston is home to Lewis-Clark State College, which was founded in 1893 and hosts the annual National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics Baseball World Series. The area is rich in the history of the Nez Perce Tribe and the Lewis and Clark expedition with a wide range of activities for the outdoor enthusiast.

Agriculture, timber, manufacturing and recreation are the major industries along with regional retail.

The North-Central Regional Office covers the following counties: Clearwater, Idaho, Latah, Lewis and Nez Perce.

It includes the following cities: Bovill, Cottonwood, Craigmont, Culdesac, Deary, Elk River, Ferdinand, Genesee, Grangeville, Juliaetta, Kamiah, Kendrick, Kooskia, Lapwai, Lewiston, Moscow, Nezperce, Onaway, Orofino, Peck, Pierce, Potlatch, Reubens, Riggins, Stites, Troy, Weippe, White Bird and Winchester.
