Idaho Kids Excel

Kids' Links

Throughout my time in Congress, I've had the opportunity to meet many outstanding young people from Idaho.  On this page, you will find some of their efforts, which include national essay and poster contests, statewide recognition, academic achievement and other projects that remind us of the valuable contributions that young people make to the fabric of Idaho.

Alexa Barrett, American Falls, the 2009 Poster Contest Winner, Tar Wars campaign, sponsored by the American Academy of Family Physicians.

Alexa's winning poster:

Brock Browning, a young man from Coeur d'Alene, impressed me with his recitation of Patrick Henry's famous "Give Me Liberty or Give Me Death" speech (from 1775) at the March 2009 Kootenai County Lincoln Day banquet.  Click here to link to Brock's performance; it runs about 5 minutes.  I have visited with Brock and his parents, Steve and Sonja Browning, over the last few years as they advocate for research and funding for ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease).
