CRAPO TO ADDRESS IDAHO LEGISLATURE ON STIMULUS, PLANS DONATION TO BLACK HISTORY MUSEUM

Washington, DC – Idaho Senator Mike Crapo will speak to members of the Idaho House and Senate about economic stimulus efforts before Congress and spearhead other economic and education issues next week during a visit to the Treasure Valley. Crapo will donate 40 Congressional books entitled “Black Americans in Congress: 1870-2007” to Board Members of the Idaho Black History Museum on Wednesday. The event at the Idaho Black History Museum will mark Black History Month in Idaho and begin new education outreach efforts to Idaho students regarding black history issues. Other local dignitaries, area school representatives and students may also attend the event.

Crapo, a member of the Senate Finance Committee that oversees health care legislation, will also tour a local Primary Health Medical Group clinic in Meridian and discuss cost-saving medical practices with area physicians.

Crapo’s schedule is subject to change with the Senate schedule. Highlights of his Treasure Valley visit include:

Tuesday, February 17th:
11:00 a.m. Boise Addresses the Idaho Senate, Statehouse Annex.

11:30 a.m. Boise Addresses the Idaho House of Representatives.

Wednesday, February 18th:
9:00 a.m. Meridian Tours Primary Health Medical Group facilities and discusses health care legislation. At Primary Health Medical Group, 3115 E. Florence Street.

11:00 a.m. Boise Speaks to the Idaho Food Producers on agriculture issues before Congress. At the Idaho Grain & Ag Center, 821 West State Street.

2:20 p.m. Boise Presents copies of “Black Americans in Congress: 1870-2007” to Board Members at the Idaho Black History Museum, 508 Julia Davis Drive.
