Crapo Announces Staff Changes

Washington, D.C.--U.S. Senator Mike Crapo (R-Idaho) announced recent staff changes in his Washington, D.C., and Boise offices.

Lindsay Nothern, Senator Crapo’s Boise-based Communications Director and long-time communications advisor for more than 20 years, will retire on Thursday, March 17.  Senator Crapo recently presented Lindsay with a Congressional Record Statement honoring his tenure and service to the people of Idaho.

Melanie Lawhorn, who has worked for Senator Crapo since 2015, has been promoted to Communications Director.  She joined Senator Crapo’s team in a legislative capacity working on policy areas of defense, veterans, trade, foreign affairs and government operations.  Lawhorn has served as Senator Crapo’s Press Secretary since April 2019, and in November 2021, became a shared-employee and communications advisor for the Senator’s position on the Senate Finance Committee.  She holds a master’s degree in strategic public relations from the George Washington University Graduate School of Political Management and a Bachelor of Arts degree in public policy from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Nate Favero has been promoted to Legislative Aide.  In his new capacity, he will cover pro-life and education issues.  He will continue to handle constituent mail for issues related to health care, taxes, labor, the debt limit and Social Security.  Nate previously served as Legislative Correspondent and Staff Assistant after an internship in Senator Martha McSally’s (R-Arizona) office.  He holds a Bachelor of Arts in political science from Brigham Young University.
