Washington, D.C.--U.S. Senator Mike Crapo (R-Idaho), the lead Republican of the Senate Finance Committee, which oversees the Social Security Administration, issued the following statement after President-elect Donald Trump announced his intent to nominate Frank Bisignano to serve as the Commissioner of the Social Security Administration:
“The Social Security Administration provides more than $1 trillion in benefits to millions of seniors, individuals with disabilities and their families each year. The position of Commissioner is particularly important at a time when the agency is facing significant operational challenges. Frank Bisignano’s career of revamping financial services institutions and stewarding their resources will serve him well in this crucial role. I look forward to considering his nomination before the Committee.”
