Changes to communication, legislative and front office personnel
Washington, D.C. - Idaho Senator Mike Crapo announces promotions for two members of his staff and welcomes another to his Washington, D.C., office.
Judd Deere has been promoted to serve as Crapo's Press Secretary & Digital Director. Over the past year, Deere has served as the Senator's New Media Director. Crapo's office has implemented an innovative digital strategy allowing the Senator to reach a wider audience of Idahoans. Besides launching a Twitter account that now has over 2,500 followers, the Senator has doubled the number of "likes" on his Facebook page with the use of photos, videos and infographics. Deere, a native of Benton, Arkansas, previously worked for Senator John Boozman (R-Arkansas) and the Republican Party of Arkansas. A graduate of Lyon College in Batesville, Arkansas, he holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and History.
Kyra Maples, currently a Staff Assistant, is joining the communications team as Deputy Press Secretary. A native of Parma, Idaho, Kyra attended the University of Idaho and served as an intern in Crapo's Washington, D.C., office during her Junior year. After completing her degree in Political Science, she moved back to D.C. to serve as Staff Assistant for the senator full-time. For the past year, she has provided support to constituents and staff, and was also promoted to Assistant Scheduler before joining the press team.
Kellie McConnell joins the office as a Legislative Correspondent. Most recently, Kellie worked as a Staff Assistant for former Senator Richard Lugar (R-Indiana) and was an intern for Representative David McKinley (R-West Virginia). Kellie is a graduate of Denison University in Granville, Ohio, with a Bachelor of Arts in Religion. A native of Charlottesville, Virginia, Kellie will handle health care, labor, telecommunications and social issues.
Madeline Kroll joined Senator Crapo's staff following the completion of her internship in December. With Kyra's departure from the front office, Madeline is moving to senior Staff Assistant and Assistant Scheduler. Madeline is from Boise, Idaho, and attended the University of Idaho earning a Bachelors in International Studies and French.
Taylor Luczak is the newest member to the Crapo office and will be serving alongside Madeline in the front office as a Staff Assistant. Taylor joins the office after the conclusion of an internship with Representative Gregg Harper (R-Mississippi). A native of Glens Falls, New York, Taylor earned his Bachelors of Arts degree in Political Science and Asian Studies in 2012 from Mississippi State University in Starkville, Mississippi.
