Crapo Announces Staff Changes

Washington, D.C. staff gains legislative, communications staff

Washington, DC â?? Idaho Senator Mike Crapo has hired three news staff members in Washington, D.C.Newly hired Legislative Assistant Matt Hughes will take over responsibilities for issues related to health, Medicare/Medicaid, welfare, Social Security, Hispanic, and seniors. Hughes worked previously for PhRMA (Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America) as Director of Alliance Development, for Representative Mark Kennedy (R-Minnesota) as a Legislative Assistant, and the Minnesota State Legislature. He holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Management from St. Johnâ??s University in Collegeville, Minnesota.Laura Thurston Goodroe joins the staff as Deputy Press Secretary. Goodroe, who is originally from Sandpoint, Idaho, holds a Masters in Public Administration from the University of Colorado and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Religious Studies from Willamette University in Salem, Oregon.Diana Black began working this year as an intern in Crapoâ??s DC office, but ended her internship early to become a Legislative Correspondent. She will work on issues related to education, labor, health, and other social issues. Black is originally from Nevada and holds a Bachelor's of Business Administration in International Business from Boise State University. # # #
