Crapo Brings Books, Praise To OpeningOf Shelter For Women & Children Today

Caldwell - Idaho Senator Mike Crapo will join local and state leaders fighting against domestic violence today when he assists in a fundraiser and grand opening for the Hopes Door Shelter in Caldwell. Crapo will speak at the event planned by Advocates Against Family Violence, Inc., during the event planned for noon today at the Albertson College South Dining Room on the Caldwell campus.Advocates Against Family Violence is opening the Caldwell facility to improve services, safe refuge, and counseling for women and children in the West Treasure Valley who have been subjected to domestic violence. The group is looking for both volunteer and financial help for the shelter, which can be reached by calling (208) 459-4779 in Caldwell. During CrapoĆ¢??s remarks today, he will present more than a hundred books for use by parents, children, and volunteers at the shelter. The books have been donated to CrapoĆ¢??s offices in Washington, DC by the Library of Congress and several private publishing companies. # # #
