U.S. National Debt:

Crapo Brings HUD Secretary Carson to Idaho to Discuss Affordable Housing

Schedules multiple site visits on Monday, August 12

Boise -- U.S. Senator Mike Crapo, U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Secretary Ben Carson and local Boise leaders will host multiple housing events on Monday, August 12 to discuss affordable housing challenges and innovative, collaborative solutions.

Housing affordability is a critical issue in Idaho and all across the country.  Nationwide, there is a shortage of millions of affordable rental homes available to lower-income Americans, and the gap between the demand for affordable homes and the supply of new ones being built increases each year.

Addressing the housing affordability crisis requires innovative, outside-the-box approaches, as well as collaborative efforts at the local, state and federal level, and public/private partnerships.  Senator Crapo, Secretary Carson and local leaders will discuss some of the ways leaders in government and in the private sector are addressing challenges in the housing market.
