Captain Alan Rowe killed during patrol in Iraq

Idaho Senator Mike Crapo expressed his sorrow today over the loss of Marine Captain Alan Rowe, 35, of Hagerman from an explosion while conducting combat operations in Al Anbar Province, Iraq. â??My condolences go out to Captain Roweâ??s wife, children, and family during this difficult time,â?? Crapo said. â??Captain Rowe loved the Marines and was committed to his country. He served honorably in Iraq on three occasions, returning for each tour with a sense of duty and purpose. Captain Rowe joins a distinguished list of Idahoans who have made the ultimate sacrifice in service to their country.â?? Rowe was the weapons company commander for the 1st Battalion, 7th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, 1st Marine Expeditionary Force. He died when a remote-controlled explosive device detonated as he returned to his vehicle after inspecting a bridge in Al Anbar, near the Syrian border. # # #
