Washington, D.C. – Idaho Senator Mike Crapo today honored the life and service of fallen Idahoan, Specialist (Spc.) Michael T. Osorio.
“I am saddened to learn of the death of Specialist Michael Osorio on his first deployment to Iraq,” said Senator Crapo. “Specialist Osorio bravely answered the call of duty to serve his country as a member of the United States Army. I offer my deepest, heartfelt condolences to his family for their loss and extend my utmost gratitude for the understated sacrifice they have made through supporting their son, brother and friend in his service.”
Specialist Osorio died April 23, 2019, from non-combat related injuries sustained while on his first deployment to Taji, Iraq, in support of Operation Inherent Resolve. Spc. Osorio, from Horseshoe Bend, Idaho, was assigned to the 4th Squadron, 10th Calvary Regiment, 4th Infantry Division, Fort Carson, Colorado. He received several awards, including the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal and the Army Achievement Medal.
