Crapo Nominates Idaho Sheriffs ForMissing Children CaseTraining

Washington, DC â?? All of Idahoâ??s 44 county sheriffs are invited to participate in training seminars dealing with missing and exploited children, thanks to Idaho Senator Mike Crapo and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. Crapo has nominated all 44 of Idahoâ??s sheriffs for eligibility to attend the free sessions, which are held several times each year in Alexandria, Virginia, just outside Washington, DC. â??I am pleased to join with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children to offer this valuable training to Idaho law enforcement leaders,â?? Crapo said. â??The first few hours following the abduction of a child are critical if they are to be found safely. The efforts of everyoneâ??law enforcement, the general public, and elected officials are necessary so that every missing child can be returned home. This training will help ensure that more abducted children are returned safely to their families.â?? The Missing and Exploited Children Chief Executive Officer Seminar (CEO) is a two-day course that provides sheriffs with an orientation to the issues related to missing and exploited childrenâ??s cases. Information provided includes effective policies and practices in addition to technical assistance, training, and available resources. There is no charge to the sheriffs, counties, or state for law enforcement personnel to take part in the seminars, but nominees are encouraged to register early as space is limited for next yearâ??s sessions. Crapo, a founding member of the Senate Missing and Exploited Childrenâ??s Caucus, has sponsored legislation to boost the efforts to initiate and solve missing children cases, and has begun showing the pictures of Idaho missing children on his Senate web site and on correspondence sent from his Washington, D.C. office. # # #
