Will travel across southern Idaho during August, September
Boise - Idaho Senator Mike Crapo is ramping up his town meeting schedule in Idaho during the August and September state work period. Crapo opens his town meetings with a discussion about the federal government's federal debt that is nearing $19 trillion, then takes questions from Idahoans in attendance. He plans an additional 58 Idaho town meetings during August and September.
In Boise, Crapo will receive a briefing on the Northwest fire situation at the National Interagency Fire Center in Boise. Crapo and Senator Ron Wyden (D-Oregon) have introduced legislation to ensure forest restoration efforts are not stopped by so-called federal "fire borrowing" efforts to pay for catastrophic wildfires. Crapo will also speak during the Intermountain Energy Summit in Idaho Falls and he will present his Spirit of Idaho Award to Joe Bell for his efforts to document public access at Lake Lowell on the Deer Flat National Wildlife Refuge south of Nampa. Crapo will also participate in the Idaho Congressional Awards ceremony at the Idaho Statehouse.
