Boise - Idaho Senator Mike Crapo and Major Jack Phillips of the Salvation Army will announce plans Tuesday for a new housing and treatment facility in Boise that will assist Idaho veterans. The facility, to be built in Boiseâ??s North End in partnership with the Veterans Administration, will help ease the chronic shortage of temporary housing and related services that are not presently available to homeless veterans in Idaho. Salvation Army officials worked with Crapo to request funding through the VA to build the center. Present estimates are that more than 160 homeless men are turned away annually seeking these services. The news conference will be held next to the Salvation Armyâ??s Booth Home at 10:15 a.m. Tuesday, August 26th. The address is 1617 North 24th Street in Boise. Further details on the site and the facility will be released at that time.# # #
