Crapo Says Fight Terror According to The Constitution

WASHINGTON - Responding to several legislative proposals being offered in the wake of the Orlando terrorist attack that would limit the Second Amendment rights of law-abiding American citizens, Idaho Senator Mike Crapo issued the following statement:

"The terrorist attack in Orlando, the most recent of several similar tragedies, highlights the critical importance of realistically identifying the source of the national security threat and aggressively acting to protect Americans in adherence to our Constitution.  As the Senate considers legislative amendments seeking to address the regrettable new normal with terrorist violence, it is my sincere hope that we not mistakenly use the crisis to erode Americans' Second Amendment rights.  This is a predictable playbook opposed to our Constitutional freedoms, and I am unabashedly resolved to reject any and all attempts to weaken our Second Amendment rights in response to the tragedy in Orlando."
