Crapo Sets First Tele-Townhall of 2013

Washington, D.C. - Idaho Senator Mike Crapo has set a date for his first tele-townhall meeting of 2013 for Wednesday, February 13, at 6:55 PM Mountain Time/5:55 PM Pacific, and is encouraging all Idahoans to participate.  Wednesday's tele-townhall comes on the heels of the President's State of the Union Address, which will be held the previous evening. 

"The President will cover many topics in his State of the Union Address next week, but what Americans really need to hear is his plan for getting our nation's fiscal house in order," Crapo said.  "We recently averted going over the fiscal cliff and made progress in making permanent much of the tax relief we have been fighting for more than 10 years.  However, our country still needs comprehensive tax reform, which would simplify the tax code for all Americans, grow our economy and make American business more competitive. 

"We are coming up on a battle over sequestration at the end of this month.  On Monday, the President missed the deadline to submit a budget to Congress and it has been nearly four years since Senate Democrats passed a budget.  The list goes on.  I welcome input from Idahoans on how we should address these issues and alleviate the economic difficulties that so many are facing today."

To sign up for the tele-townhall meeting, please visit Senator Crapo's website, https://www.crapo.senate.gov, and click on the iTownhall icon on the left side of the page.  You will be directed to send an e-mail request with your contact information.  In order to ensure your participation, you need to sign up before Monday, February 11.  

To participate in the meeting, all you need is a telephone.  Participation is voluntary, and listeners are given an opportunity to ask the Senator about topics regarding federal policies or legislation.  Those who have signed up will receive an automated phone call just before the tele-townhall forum begins and will be instructed on how to participate.
