Crapo Sets ITown Hall Meeting Dates

Washington, DC - The new session of Congress means Idaho Senator Mike Crapo has renewed his plans to use technology to speak with Idahoans from Washington, DC, about the issues before the Senate. Crapo expects economic and tax issues may dominate his first iTownHall meeting of this year, scheduled for February 11, 2009. The iTownHall format allows Crapo to speak with thousands of Idahoans in a conference call format, using the telephone.

Signing up for the iTownHall is easy at Crapo's website at info_iTownHall@crapo.senate.gov. The iTownHall meetings generally begin at 7 p.m. Mountain Time/ 6 p.m. Pacific and last an hour.

This year's iTownHall meetings are planned for the following dates, but may be subject to change depending on the Senate schedule:
• Wednesday, February 11
• Wednesday, May 13
• Wednesday, July 15
• Wednesday, September 16

"As a member of the Senate Finance, Banking, and Budget Committees, I will be greatly involved in our economic, financial and stimulus legislation," Crapo said. "Hearing the views of Idahoans is important as we draft and vote on this legislation and I look forward to the iTownHall meeting on February 11th."

Since November 2007, Crapo has been hosting quarterly iTownhall meetings as another opportunity for constituents to share their thoughts and concerns with him. Calls are placed to Idaho about ten minutes before the call is scheduled to begin, and participants are invited to ask questions throughout the hour.
