U.S. National Debt:

Crapo Sets Statewide i-Townhall Meeting for September

Telephone meeting follows up state town hall meetings on federal debt

Washington, DC - Idaho Senator Mike Crapo has set a statewide telephone i-Townhall meeting for Wednesday, September 14 th, and is encouraging Idahoans to participate.  "Many Idahoans could not attend the various town hall meetings I was able to hold in the state during the August work period and the iTownhall allows Idahoans from all parts of the state to participate via their telephone," Crapo said.  "The debt crisis remains our focus in Washington and I appreciate the input from Idahoans on how we should proceed to reduce spending."

Interested participants are invited to join Crapo in his iTownhall meeting next Wednesday, September 14, at 7:00 p.m. Mountain Time/6:00 p.m. Pacific.  To sign up for the iTownhall meeting, please visit Senator Crapo's website, http://crapo.senate.gov, and click on the iTownhall icon.  You will be directed to send an e-mail request with your contact information.

"In order to participate in the meeting, all you need is a telephone, and is there is no fee," Crapo said.  Participation is voluntary, and listeners are given an opportunity to ask the Senator about topics regarding federal policies or legislation.  To ensure participation, it is best to sign up two days prior to the event, at Crapo's Senate website, http://crapo.senate.gov

"In speaking with Idahoans across the state, I have found that they are not just frustrated, but furious that Congress continues to fight political battles instead of working together to get results.  The bottom line is that Congress needs to act immediately to make the economy stronger, and the deficit spending must stop."

Following the call, an audio file (MP3) of the full forum will be posted on the Senator's website.  A transcript will be posted at a later date.
