Washington, D.C.--U.S. Senator Mike Crapo (R-Idaho) issued the following statement regarding the Senate’s action on two Continuing Resolution proposals:
“Republicans offered a proposal to keep the government funded through December 3 and to provide much-needed disaster relief, Afghan assistance and continued support for our ally, Israel.
“Democrats control both chambers of Congress and the White House. To raise the debt ceiling required to cover their reckless, partisan tax-and-spend proposals that will hit all Americans and raise the debt even more, they must use their tools and resources to raise the debt ceiling themselves. To suggest they cannot do so deflects their sole responsibility for facilitating another reckless spending spree.”
