Washington, D.C.--U.S. Senator Mike Crapo (R-Idaho) issued the following statement on the announcement that Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Kentucky) will step down from his leadership position in November:
“Although the sun will soon set on Mitch McConnell’s leadership position in the United States Senate, his indelible mark will not soon be forgotten. He has navigated Senate Republicans through many once-in-a-lifetime crises, tackled complex policies with grit and determination, and handled the harshest of criticisms with grace and fortitude. The respect he holds for this institution must prevail. Mitch and I have been friends for a long time, and it has been an honor to serve under his leadership. I look forward to continuing to work with him. May whomever next carries the torch do so with the same vigor.”
