Washington, D.C.--Following the Senate’s 100-0 passage of H.R. 1652, the Victims of Crime Act (VOCA) Fix Act, U.S. Senator Mike Crapo (R-Idaho) issued the following statement:
“For decades, the Victims of Crime Act has provided critical funding to victims’ service organizations and direct compensation to victims of crime. Today’s legislation ensures all fines, even those from non-prosecution agreements, go to help victims. While more must be done to ensure this fund is not subject to federal budgetary gimmicks, Congress’s action today is a positive step forward in ensuring the funds actually go to victims of crimes.”
