WASHINGTON – Idaho Senator Mike Crapo issued the following reaction on President Trump’s announcement that the United States will withdraw from the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), also called the Iran Nuclear Deal:
"I support the President's decision. The President has rightly noted what many have long pointed out – the JCPOA was poorly-negotiated and allowed Iran to step up its dangerous activities in the Middle East. Tehran received billions of dollars in sanctions relief, which has been used to pursue missile testing, support terrorist groups in Syria, escalate the Civil War in Yemen, and threaten U.S. allies in the region."
