Crapo To Announce Student Scholarship Fund, Talk Business & Trade Next Week

Will also discuss more education funding for Idaho

Washington, DC â?? Idaho Senator Mike Crapo will join with education professionals and leaders next week to announce a first-of-its-kind endowment to assist Idaho students in attending college in Idaho. Further details on the scholarship effort, which will be housed at the Idaho Community Foundation, will be announced during a news conference in Boise this coming Wednesday. Crapo will also discuss increases in federal funding in Title I and IDEA funding for Idaho schools.On Tuesday, March 16, Crapo will chair a U.S. Senate subcommittee hearing on rural development and business services offered by the federal government through the U.S. Department of Agricultureâ??s Rural Development Program. The hearing in Cascade will focus on rural development initiatives at the regional and statewide level, housing programs in Idaho, small business and entrepreneurial efforts, and business development and job creation related to the Healthy Forests Restoration Act.While in Boise on Wednesday, March 17, Crapo will be joined by Deputy Administrator for the U.S. Department of Agricultureâ??s Foreign Agricultural Service, Patricia Sheikh, to hold a forum on agricultural trade issues at Boise City Hall.
