Crapo To Discuss Economic Issues, F-35s, Teen Violence Efforts

Washington, D.C. - Idaho Senator Mike Crapo will discuss economic issues, including federal legislation and policy matters, during remarks next week before business and civic groups in Boise and Twin Falls. He will also help announce new efforts to stop teen dating violence in Idaho and he will join with fellow members of the Idaho Congressional Delegation, Governor Otter and area mayors to rally support for bringing the F-35 aircraft to Idaho. Crapo will visit with three student groups to discuss innovative learning programs and volunteer health care efforts.
Crapo will also attend several Lincoln Day events in Idaho. His schedule includes the following events and is subject to change.

Tuesday, February 16:
Meridian 8:30 a.m. Speaks to more than 100 students at Mountain View High School.  Topics include government and federal policies. At the school's Lecture Hall, 2000 Millennium Way.

Meridian 9:40 a.m. Meets with students and staff at Meridian Magnet School.  Will discuss the school's Professional Technical Education Program.  The program increases college enrollment. At the Renaissance Center, 1303 E. Central Drive.

Wednesday, February 17:
Boise 10:00 a.m. Discusses federal farm policy with the Idaho Food Producers.  At the Idaho Grain and Ag Center, 821 West State.

Boise 11:00 a.m. Speaks to the Idaho State Senate on federal issues. Statehouse.

Boise 11:30 a.m. Speaks to the Idaho State House on federal issues. Statehouse.

Boise 12:15 p.m. Addresses the Idaho Policy Summit on Prevention of Digital Dating Abuse and "Sexting" in Adolescent Relationships.  Boise Centre on the Grove.

Thursday, February 18:
Boise 11:00 a.m. Participates in rally in support of bringing F-35 aircraft and training to Idaho. Joins Governor Otter, Idaho Delegation, area mayors and military.  At the Headquarters Building, Gowen Field.

Boise Noon Speaks on economic issues and federal policy and legislation to Boise Chamber of Commerce Congressional Forum, Owyhee Plaza.

Friday, February 19:
Jerome 10:00 a.m. Presents his "Spirit of Idaho" Award to Jerome students for their role in the Tiger Wellness Clinic and how it represents an outstanding example of healthcare reform and wellness efforts. At Summit Elementary School, 200 10th Avenue West.

Jerome 10:45 a.m. Discusses opportunities to increase recycling efforts for plastics.  At Hilex Poly's plastic bag recycling facility, 40 West 100 South.

Twin Falls 2:45 p.m. Meets with the Southern Idaho Economic Development Organization's Executive Board to discuss job creation and business development.  At the Economic Roundtable, College of Southern Idaho, President's Conference Room, 315 Falls Avenue.
