Crapo To Meet With Downwinders, Attend Mountain Home, Hispanic Center Events

Senator spends Sept. 11th honoring veterans in Nampa, Mtn. Home

Idaho Senator Mike Crapo will spend Saturday, September 11th in Idaho by honoring veterans in Nampa and Mountain Home, attending the first anniversary celebration of the Hispanic Cultural Center of Idaho, and meeting in Emmett with Idaho residents concerned about fallout from bomb testing in Nevada during the 1950s. Crapo will be also be available to discuss issues surrounding the anniversary of the terrorist attacks in New York, Washington, DC, and Pennsylvania on September 11, 2001. Saturday, September 11th:10:00 a.m. Mountain Home Participate in Mountain Homeâ??s Air Force Appreciation Day by taking part in the local parade and other festivities honoring local military personnel and those serving overseas. Line up for the parade begins at 10:00 a.m. behind Paulâ??s Market. 2:00 p.m. Emmett Speak with Idaho residents concerned about fallout from nuclear bomb testing in Nevada during the 1950s and 1960s. The â??downwinderâ?? group will meet at the Emmett City Park, 417 Main Street in Emmett. 3:30 p.m. Nampa Join with leadership of the Hispanic Cultural Center of Idaho, the Operation Yellow Ribbon and Healthy Families Nampa to honor soldiers and the families of those deployed overseas. Will also take part in festivities celebrating the first anniversary of the Hispanic Cultural Center of Idaho. Crapo assisted with initial federal funding to help with construction of the HCCI.
