Families of WWII Veterans to Receive Bronze Star, Purple Heart, Other Medals

Nampa  - Family members of two Idaho World War II veterans will receive the Bronze Star, Purple Heart, and other medals for meritorious service during a ceremony Wednesday, April 8 ^th at the Warhawk Air Museum in Nampa.

Frank Mattus and Manuel Aldecoa both served their nation with distinction during WWII.  Mattus passed away in 1997; Aldecoa during the war. The families worked with Idaho Senator Mike Crapo's office to obtain the long-overdue honors posthumously.  Both men and their families are receiving several medals.  Crapo will make the presentations.
