Regional fairs, Spirit of Idaho, groundbreaking also on agenda
Idaho Falls - Idaho Senator Mike Crapo will discuss health care issues, take a tour of improvements in medical options for Idahoans and visit with fairgoers at two regional fairs this week. As the August state work period comes to a close, Crapo will also help break ground for a new health facility in Aberdeen, review efforts to encourage healthy living at a local wellness clinic and view care improvements at the St. Luke's Magic Valley Regional Medical Center. He will tour geothermal energy facilities near Malta operated by US Geothermal.
Crapo will take questions on federal spending, health care and other issues during a speech to the Twin Falls Chamber of Commerce, and he will tape a public service announcement on cancer awareness at KMVT Television in Twin Falls. Crapo will visit health care and other booths at the Twin Falls County Fair on Thursday evening and will walk in Saturday's parade for the Eastern Idaho State Fair in Blackfoot. He will speak to and receive an award from respiratory care physicians at a regional conference on Friday. Crapo will also present his Spirit of Idaho Award to Whitney Bird in Shelley for her volunteer efforts to create awards for local teachers.

Thursday, September 3rd
10:45 a.m. Malta Tours US Geothermal's energy production facility and discusses renewable energy. At the facility, 2960 S. 2100 East.
6:45 p.m. Filer Speaks with Idahoans at the Twin Falls County Fair and visits the Idaho Children in Nature Network and St. Luke's health booths, 215 Fair Avenue.
Friday, September 4th
9:40 a.m. Twin Falls Records public service announcement promoting prostate cancer awareness, KMVT Television, 1100 Blue Lakes Boulevard.
10:30 a.m. Twin Falls Meets with volunteers and discusses health care issues at the Mustard Seed Community Wellness Clinic, 676 Shoup Avenue West, Suite 2.
Noon Twin Falls Addresses Twin Falls Chamber of Commerce on issues before Congress. At the White House event center, 365 Blue Lakes Boulevard.
1:30 p.m. Twin Falls Tours new facilities at St. Luke's Magic Valley Regional Medical Center and discusses heath care issues. At the corner of Grandview and Poleline Roads.
2:20 p.m. Twin Falls Speaks on health issues before the Idaho Respiratory Care Educational Conference and receive an award from the group. At the Red Lion Hotel, 1357 Blue Lakes Boulevard
Saturday, September 5th
11:00 a.m. Blackfoot Participates in the Eastern Idaho State Fair Parade. Parade route runs from 11:00 a.m. until Noon on Shilling Street.
Noon Blackfoot Attends VIP Luncheon at the Eastern Idaho State Fair, Board Room above the Main Fair Office.
2:00 p.m. Aberdeen Participates in the groundbreaking festivities for the new Health West Clinic, 306 Main Street
4:30 p.m. Shelley Presents Spirit of Idaho Award to Whitney Bird of Shelley for her volunteer efforts to improve community spirit at her school. At Shelley High School, 70 W. Fir Street.
