Idaho Delegation Applauds President Trump’s Approval of Idaho Disaster Declaration

Washington, D.C. – President Donald Trump today approved a request by Idaho Governor Brad Little for a federal disaster declaration for the northern central region following major flooding after massive rainfall during the week of April 7-13, 2019.  Idaho’s U.S. Senators Mike Crapo and Jim Risch and U.S. Representative Russ Fulcher applauded President Trump and the Administration for quick action on the declaration. 

“Areas throughout north central Idaho have suffered millions of dollars in damage to homes, public lands, property and businesses in the wake of extensive flooding in the region,” said Crapo, Risch and Fulcher.  “We sincerely appreciate President Trump and his Administration’s swift approval of Idaho’s request for a federal disaster declaration.  This declaration will help existing on-the-ground efforts by state and local agencies continue to provide vital assistance to the affected communities recovering from this tragedy.” 

Heavy rainfall caused disastrous flooding in Adams, Idaho, Latah, Lewis and Valley Counties, as well as on the Nez Perce Reservation.  Senators Crapo and Risch and Representative Fulcher sent a letter to President Trump on May 28 supporting Governor Little’s May 22 request.
