U.S. National Debt:

Idaho Delegation Taking Requests for Tickets to 57th Presidential Inauguration Ceremony

Washington, D.C. - The Idaho congressional delegation is joining together for inauguration ticket distribution to maximize accessibility to the 57 th Presidential Inauguration for Idahoans.  Members of Congress are provided with a limited number of tickets to the official Presidential inauguration ceremony.  In 2013, the inauguration ceremony will take place on Monday, January 21.

In order to reduce duplicate requests, the Idaho congressional delegation will be taking requests at a single website, accessed here: https://www.crapo.senate.gov/contact/inauguration/tickets.cfm.  The Idaho delegation will not know the exact number of tickets available until the Presidential Inaugural Committee provides that information closer to the event.  There is no charge for official tickets, which provide admittance to a particular section of the viewing area.

Ticket requests will only be accepted through 5:00 PM Mountain Time, Wednesday, November 21, 2012.  Any requests made after that deadline will be placed on a waiting list.  This deadline has been set to allow Idahoans who are attending the inauguration enough planning time for travel and accommodation arrangements.  Making a request is not a guarantee that you will receive tickets.

Tickets to the inauguration are only for the ceremony and cannot be used for the inaugural parade, inaugural balls or other inaugural events.  Tickets are not necessary to view the inauguration ceremony; the tickets simply allow access to specific sections of the Capitol Grounds.  There will be large sections of the National Mall that will be accessible to the general public; typically they have jumbo viewing screens in these areas.

The Idaho congressional delegation will make every effort to distribute the tickets made available to Idahoans on a "first-come, first-served" basis to constituents.  Idahoans will be given priority in ticket requests.  However, due to demand and the limited number of tickets to the event, each request will be limited to four.  Accessible space for those with disabilities is provided in each ticket section; however, there are no tickets specifically marked as such.

Tickets to the event are required for every person, including children and infants.  Full names and ages must be provided on the request form.  The vast majority of tickets are standing-room only.  Please provide an email address that is functional and regularly checked as this will be the primary method of communication with you regarding ticket disposition.

Finally, do not submit duplicate requests.  Only one form submission is required.  Multiple submissions will not improve your chances for tickets and may result in difficulty in fulfilling your request.
