Idaho Delegation Welcomes Livestock Feed Drought Assistance

USDA to provide dry milk livestock feed to producers

Washington, DC â?? Idaho Senators Larry Craig and Mike Crapo and Idaho Representatives Mike Simpson and C.L. â??Butchâ?? Otter applauded todayâ??s U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) announcement that it will provide assistance to livestock producers in Idaho who have been impacted by continuing drought. Secretary Ann Veneman announced today that the USDA will provide surplus stocks of non-fat dry milk to livestock producers in areas hardest hit by the drought. â??We are pleased that the USDA has recognized the extreme and difficult conditions facing Idaho livestock producers and has responded accordingly. The continuing drought has placed Idaho producers under great hardship, and we feel that this aid is appropriate and necessary.â?? # # #
